| pretty good English - apparently there was a Army sponsored school some miles down the river ( catch em young ! ) . We missed a golden opportunity here - should have grabbed one as an interpretor. We could have found the spring at the top of the ridge far sooner - they all knew about it - we just didn't ask !, or at least couldn't ask. I still have the drawing from when we first tried to hire ' two mules and drivers for the day after tomorrow' ! sketches of mules, moons drawn and crossed through, suns drawn and crossed out - somehow it worked - and I still remember, 'Farda, Pasfarda, just in case you need it, as they eventually educated us. |
